For the first time in Bangladesh, the International Academy of Film and Media organized the ECO Film Lab: An International Film Residency Program, designed to explore hands-on visual storytelling in the context of nature, humanity, and climate.

The focus of the lab was to raise awareness about climate change and promote sustainable filmmaking through a Green Filming approach. During the lab, filmmakers developed their own ideas based on specific locations. They were then divided into five groups to create five short films, guided by mentorship from global film professionals. The 15-day ECO Film Lab program began with online sessions held from March 27–31, 2023. From
April 5–15, participants stayed on a specially arranged houseboat in Tanguar Haor, Sunamganj, immersing themselves fully in the creative and natural environment.
